                    Indira Gandhi





Indira Gandhi was the most fearless, influential, an excellent administrator, leader of masses and a person of strong determination. She was also called the " Iron Lady of India " and was the first and the only female  Prime Minister of India.

She was born on 19 November 1917 in Allahbad. She was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru. She had a capability to take  spontaneous decision-making which brought forward India's growth to a next level. She was a leader who managed to a reduction of 20% in proverty, an increased in literacy by 30% and raised food production to 25% during her reigns.

She was a strong and tough leader and one of the greatest leaders in the Indian history. She implemented many governament schemes. She was also known for Nationalisation of Bank, Nuclear Program, Bangladesh war, Social Reform and Foreign Policy.


On october 31, 1984, Indira Gandhi was shot and killed by the two of her bodyguards in retribution for the attack at the Golden Temple.
